Hopefully everyone had a good Thanksgiving and a long break. While many people were eating leftover turkey and recovering from the holiday, our teams were out hard at work taking on some of the best in the country.
Jamarco Warren earned CSU Athlete of the Week honors after reaching the 1,000 point milestone during the week of competition. He had 18 points against the Air Force Academy, and a halftime buzzer-beater against Trinity.
He hit five threes against the Falcons and led the team with 18 points and six assists while playing a team-high 36 minutes. Warren scored 12 of his 18 points in the first half, including a three that gave CSU its largest lead of the game at 22-13 midway through the first half.
Also very deserving of the award are Katie Tull and Kelsey Wasmer, who both shot better than 40 percent from three point range in a 2-1 week, including a nine-point loss at No. 4 North Carolina. Tull leads the Big South with 29 threes made this season, while Wasmer had a game-high 19 points against the Tarheels.

The men’s team won its third straight game as they did what they were supposed to do, rolling over Trinity. Freshman Jeremy Sexton had a team-high 17 points with five three pointers as CSU narrowly missed the century mark. Kelvin Martin had his own highlight reel with five dunks on the night.

November 28 – WBB vs. South Carolina State – W, 87-71
The women’s basketball team’s game against in-state foe South Carolina State was not as easy, but thanks in large part to an 8-0 spurt, with all eight points on layups by LeChell Rush, CSU held off the Bulldogs for the victory. Rush finished the game with a career-high 15 points.

November 28 – MBB vs. Air Force – L, 68-58
CSU led for the majority of the first half on the road at Air Force, but shooting went cold to start the second period and the Falcons used the drought to pull away. Jamarco Warren had 18 points, which put him over 1,000 for his career and made him just the 16th player in CSU history to reach the plateau. CSU got to within seven late in the game, but couldn’t get back on top as they suffered their second road loss of the season.
