Monday, Jan. 26 – WBB @ Radford
After leading for the entire first half, the Lady Buccaneer basketball team was unable to hang on as they looked for their first Big South road victory of the season, falling 76-67 to Radford. Freshman Ali Schwagmeyer led the team with a career-high 20 points, pulling in nine rebounds as well.

Tuesday, Jan. 27 – MBB vs. Morris
All nine players that dressed for Charleston Southern scored at least four points as the Bucs rolled over Morris College 95-73. Five Bucs scored in double figures, led by Omar Carter’s 19 points and 10 rebounds. Holding just a 12-point lead at halftime at 36-24, the Bucs flexed their offensive muscle in the second half, dropping in 59 points to extend the lead to as many as 24 points.

Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30-31 - Men’s and Women’s Track @ Niswonger Invitational
Charleston Southern qualified a combined eight runners (five women, three men) for the finals in the sprint events at the Niswonger Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University. The meet featured some of the best collegiate and professional runners from around the country. Freshman Javon Young finished in the top-five in the 60m dash for the third straight meet, and claimed third in the 200m dash. Sophomore Cornelius Tyler was sixth in the 200m dash, while junior Levi Brooks finished third overall in the 400m dash. Senior Dionne Gibson broke her second school record of the season as she won the 400m dash in 55.33 seconds, just two weeks after setting the 200m record. Junior Jessica Thomas finished fifth in the 60m dash while senior Chidi Walsh claimed eighth in the 60m hurdles. Sequoya Casey and Patria Norman tied for sixth overall in the long jump.

Saturday, Jan. 31 – WBB vs. Presbyterian
The Lady Buccaneers used a stifling defense, holding Presbyterian to just 15 points through the first 18 minutes of the second half, extending their lead to 22 as they cruised to a 61-48 victory over the Blue Hose. Schwagmeyer again asserted herself offensively, leading all scorers with 18 points. Sophomore Crystal Robinson added 10 while sophomore Katie Tull dropped in nine in just her third game back from an injury.

Saturday, Jan. 31 – MBB @ Coastal Carolina
Defense was the name of the game for the men on Saturday night too as they held Coastal Carolina scoreless for the first 6:10 of the game, opening up a six-point lead. The Bucs led for the majority of the second half, but saw their lead trimmed to just one with more than a minute left on the clock. The defense stepped up again, keeping the Chanticleers from getting a good look at the basket in the final seconds as they won it 71-69. Omar Carter dropped in his second-straight double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
